School

School
10 things that I love:
1. My friends: be able to know more people and interact with them.
2. The experiences, because you learn about them and anything can happen
3. That I know my self, with all your friends and experiences you discover and you go learning about yourself ( what you like, what don’t, etc)
4. That I learn, school gives me many information and basic things that I need for the real world & you can always learn more.
5. The topics and subjects are interesting and you always see something new that you didn’t know.
6. They have extra activities, like the students day in which all the school competes. Or some special days that they try to make it fun and they put you activities.
7. That you meat more people, that can turn out to be your best friend or boyfriend, or whatever.
8. They maintain us active, if we stayed home we would be fat and we would eat all day.
9. Teachers are fun and they are flexible, they have each a style to do their classes and you can also talk with them and they are fun.
10. They actualize us about the situation of the world and prepare us for what will come.

10 things that I hate:
1. The schedule, because the period of class are too long and we go out very late.
2. They have us super controlled and they don’t give us the freedom to choose some things like our subjects or the schedule, etc.
3. They give us very short vacations when other schools have more and they try to make longer the period of school.
4. They don’t give the reason to the student when they have the reason.
5. Sometimes teachers are rude and they don’t do anything about it.
6. They leave us many homework, projects, etc.
7. They make obligatory social service when you need to do it because you want or if you are going to make it obligatory at least let us decide what to do.
8. Installations, I don’t like my school because its weird and it has too many stairs and looks like a jail.
9. They have too many silly rules, like not wearing flip flops, or a t-shirt that you like.
10. They are fue students in every grade of high school and it makes it boring.

Music for every mood

I believe that every song or music reflects a state of mood, situation or belief. That’s why we all like music, because we can relate with the sounds and lyrics. Sometimes like in movies you think in a song that fits your mood or situation, all though its not like the movies that suddenly music appears.
Example: when you are driving and you don’t want to get bored you can out music like pop music, when I drive I like to here in my head- Taio Cruz, because it’s very fun and you can sing it and dance it. Other song that you can put when you are driving is Alejandro Fernandez- Bandida, I like it because you can sing it and I like Mexican music.
When you are getting dressed for a party or a night out, I usually put music that puts me in a mood of parting, Like House of Hallelujah- Stromae, which I love that song, it has a super beat and when you hear it you want to dance. Other song that gets me in mood for parting is Freak- Klass.
When I am flirting I think in the song California Girls- Katty Perry, because I think it’s a super feminine song. Or in the case that you are fighting with your boyfriend or you just had I like to hear 3 doors down- Here with you, I like this song in this type of situations because it makes you reflect of what you would feel if you loose a person that you love.
To relax I love music trance, in that situations that you are in your house alone and you want to relax or reflect Strobe- Deadmau5, I like this song because you can imagine what ever you like or you can hear Ghosts n stuff- Deadmau5.

My friends

Jazmin
I met her in 6 grade on my class, she was at the same classroom as me, I remember that when I saw her my first impression was that she was too little and she looked like a spoiled girl. Now that I know her better I know that she’s a girl that stands out because she is not afraid to sound stupid or to make a mistake, she only does what ever is on her mind, she doesn’t think twice and that is a huge error, but she is not afraid to make a mistake. She always says “aay” for everything, it makes me laugh sometimes.
Carla
I met Carla this year, she entered to Celtic School and when the bell sounded for the first class she was going upstairs to math class, I notice that she was crying and Jazmin asked her why, and she told us that she missed her old school. My first impression of her was “How boring, she’s already crying”. Now she is my super friend and I love her, and she stands out because her voice and her attitude that is always like a party, fun girl. She always says “Osea” she includes that word for every sentence she says.
Otto
Otto entered the school this year, and I notice him the first day of school in our first class. At first I looked at him and my impression was that he was dumb and he liked to call everybody attention. But then I realized that he is super smart and he stands out for that, he knows what to say and where to say it, he has knowledge of many things that regular people don’t. A word that he always says is “candarah” that everybody dislikes it, but he thinks it’s cool.
Paulina
I met her on 6 grade on school, but I really didn’t pay much attention to her, she was in a other classroom and I didn’t see her often, I remember my impression of her is that she was very talk active and gossip. I didn’t know her until 9 grade and know she is my friend. She stands out because of her attitude that is funny and knows how to have fun but she also knows what to take seriously. She always says “wey” its super characteristic word for her.

Once Jazmin and I went to David Guetta concert with 4 other friends, we stayed on one house in Mexico City, and the next day we went to six flags all day long and in the night it was the concert. We dance all night and we got out of that concert like at 3 on the morning. At the concert a robot came out and we almost got a shock, it was super cool, we couldn’t believe it.

Fiction Characters

I identify with The Beauty, (of the beauty and the beast) because I think she is very intelligent and loving, but she also has character and knows how to defend her self. Also what I think its similar is that she can love a person for who it is and not for what they look like, and I believe I do the same. I love that she likes to read, because I love to read too. The Beauty is a very happy person that likes to be friends with everybody, I like that as well.

I have been compared to the dog (puf) of the movie Mulan, because the dog is very picky and uptight and they believe in some times I act like that, but in the end the dog ends to be a good friend, smart, and curious, I like that the dog is very independent but also likes that they pay attention to him.
The dog is very picky and uptight, but it also has a good heart and is a good friend. In some cases is very curious and smart. He knows how to act and he likes to be the center of the attention, he doesn’t like to be disturbed or anything like that.
The Beauty, is a girl that is very loving and has a very good heart, she doesn’t care of the outside but only for the inside and she can love everybody. She is also smart and likes to read.
I agree in the comparation the dog but I think I’m more like the beauty, I believe I have both Qualities and defects.

Concert

Once, I was at a friends house and she had tickets to Enrique Iglesias so she invited me, but she told me that she bought the tickets for 1,700 $, and I didn’t have the money so I told her that I couldn’t go with her. I really wanted to go so my friend and I decided fake a ticket and see how real it saw so I could pass free, so we started to print the ticket and cut it, at the end of the day, the fake ticket was perfect it didn’t seam fake, so we thought “why don’t we give it a shot?”. We arrived to la Santa Maria and I was super nervous and we where already in the line to pass, when It was my turne they took my fake ticket, he saw it closely and he said “okay, you can pass”, and I couldn’t believe it, I entered and nobody noticed that it was fake. During the concert I couldn’t believe what close I where to Enrique and I am almost sure that during one song he saw me and smiled. Also there where many girls that jumped to the stage and hugged him, I wanted to do that but all crazy girls pushed me and didn’t let me. During the concert Enrique pulled a girl to the stage and sang to her a romantic song and kissed her, I was dying to be that girl, because Enrique Iglesias is so handsome. The concert last like 3 hours and ended like at 12:30 am, when we went out I was so shocked I actually entered with a fake ticket and enjoyed that much the concert. It was amazing.

Fiction and Non Fiction

Non Fiction
Memoir is a record of events written by a person having intimate knowledge of them and based on personal observation
Auto Biography is oneself narrated by oneself. Little autobiographical literature exists from antiquity and the Middle Ages; with a handful of exceptions, the form begins to appear only in the 15th century. Autobiographical works take many forms, from intimate writings made during life that are not necessarily intended for publication (including letters, diaries, journals, memoirs, and reminiscences) to the formal autobiography.
Essay is a short piece of writing which is often written from an author's personal point of view. Essays can consist of a number of elements, including: literary criticism, political manifestos, learned arguments, observations of daily life, recollections, and reflections of the author.

Fiction:
Poem is a verbal composition designed to convey experiences, ideas, or emotions in a vivid and imaginative way, characterized by the use of language chosen for its sound and suggestive power and by the use of literary techniques such as meter, metaphor, and rhyme.
Short Stories is a work of fiction that is usually written in prose, often in narrative format. This format tends to be more pointed than longer works of fiction, such as novellas (in the 20th and 21st century sense) and novels.
Novels are a book of long narrative in literary prose. The genre has historical roots both in the fields of the medieval and early modern romance and in the tradition of the novella. The latter supplied the present generic term in the late 18th century.

Culture

Culture is a term that has several meanings, for example in 1952 Alfred Kroeber and Clyde Kluckhohn complied a list of 164 different meanings. But they are 2 basic meanings
1. Excellence of taste in the arts and humanities, also known as high culture
2. An integrated pattern of human knowledge, belief and behavior that depends upon the capacity for symbolic thought and social learning.
3. The set of shared attitudes, values, goals and practices that characterizes an institution organization or group.
In the twentieth century, "culture" emerged as a concept central to anthropology, encompassing all human phenomena that are not purely results of human genetics. Specifically, the term "culture" in American anthropology had two meanings: the evolved human capacity to classify and represent experiences with symbols, and to act imaginatively and creatively; and the distinct ways that people living in different parts of the world classified and represented their experiences, and acted creatively. Following World War II, the term became important, albeit with different meanings, in other disciplines such as cultural studies, organizational psychology and management studies.
Every culture has its own way to, celebrate, belief, act, etc. In case of the celebration in every culture they celebrate different things or gods, they can do rituals, dance or food, etc. Also every culture expresses their self through art.
In school part of what they teach us is to know and learn about the diversity of cultures on the world, to respect them and to know why every culture is different. Through the art of the different cultures we can know how they behave, what they belief in, rituals, social organization etc.
The benefits to know and learn about different cultures is that you can adopt some of them, or even if you don’t like other cultures you can see the differences between their cultures and yours and understand better your culture.

Junior High

Mafalda

Mafalda, drawn and created by the Argentine cartoonist Quino (J.S. Lavado) from 1963 to 1975, and also has appeared in a long-running series of animated cartoons and comic stripes, is familiar to every Latin American, and is well known in Europe and Japan as well. She's even appeared in Australia. Only in the US, for some reason, is she unknown.
The central character is Mafalda (named for a type of pasta). Mafalda is obsessed with the bad shape the world is in; she wants to be a UN translator, and intends to defuse conflicts by translating the insults into statements. She's also a big fan of the Beatles (even if she can't understand the words) and a dutiful if sometimes sarcastic daughter. Her one weakness is soup-- she holds a grudge against the Swiss for having invented instant soup.
Her friends are also distinctive characters. Her oldest friend is Felipe, whose sweet disposition conceals an avid enthusiasm for the Lone Ranger and an incurable aversion to homework.
Her friend Manolito is, at six, the consummate petty businessman, tireless and tiresome in his promotions of his father's grocery store. He's already an expert at publicity (smelling something rotten in the store, he remarks, "I sense this week's special in the air") and at customer relations:

I think Mafalda is a excellent cartoon and comic strip, I love the way Malfada is sarcastic and you always enjoy a cartoon of her, i like that Mafalda show serious conflicts in the world, on all the cartoons there is a situation of what’s happening on the world.

The Simpsons

is an American animated television series created by Matt Groening for the Fox Broadcasting Company. The series is a satirical parody of a working-class American lifestyle epitomized by its family of the same name,[1] which consists of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie. The show is set in the fictional city of Springfield, and lampoons American culture, society, television and many aspects of the human condition.
The family was conceived by Groening shortly before a pitch for a series of animated shorts with the producer James L. Brooks. Groening created a dysfunctional family and named the characters after members of his own family, substituting Bart for his own name. The shorts became a part of The Tracey Ullman Show on April 19, 1987. After a three-season run, the sketch was developed into a half-hour prime time show and was an early hit for Fox, becoming the first Fox series to land in the Top 30 ratings in a season (1989–1990).
Since its debut on December 17, 1989 the show has broadcast 481 episodes and the twenty-second season started airing on September 26, 2010. The Simpsons Movie, a feature-length film, was released in theaters worldwide on July 26 and July 27, 2007, and grossed US$527 million worldwide.

I don’t like very much the Simpsons because i think is a very vulgar way to express conflicts on the world or serious themes, all though is very comic the cartoon, they touch very important themes and the way that they express them for me its vulgar.

San Antonio, USA

San Antonio's fusion of cultures began 300 years ago when Spain staked its claim in the New World and sent missionaries to colonize the native people. What is now San Antonio was originally a Coahuiltecan Indian village, in 1718, the Franciscans constructed a mission, San Antonio de Valero, to convert, educate, and serve as the economic core for the settlement. In 1731, Spain sent settlers from the Canary Islands to further establish their colonial presence and over the next few years, built four more missions along the river.
San Antonio has several places to visit like:
• The Alamo, the Alamo was a house for missioners and their Indian conventions.
• The towers of Americans, Terrific view of San Antonio from the restaurant in the Tower. 550 feet tall - with 360 degree views
• The river walk- it’s a river that has a lot of lights and restaurants to sit and here music.
• Sea world- one of the most shocking and amazing aquariums in the world.
Experience:
When I went to San Antonio, I went with my hole family, we went to Sea World to se the penguins, when we arrived they gave us like a Woki-Toki where all information came from, when we saw the penguins I took out my camera and took pictures but the penguins thought it was food so they followed me. Then we went to the river walk, and there were a lot of light hanging off the trees, it was super illuminated and there were many restaurants. We also went to a huge mall where there were all the toys you can imagine, I bought a dinosaur that came out of a egg and you had to fid him.

RELIGION

Speaker’s education
What I can infer about the speaker education is that he has studied and recollected information based on astrology to prove his point of view of religion. I can say that he has a good education and what he says is based on facts. We can notice that he has studied this theme all his life because we knows what he is talking about, also we can infer that he has studied astrology. Astrology and religion are extremely complicated specially religion, a lot of people believe in different gods, the speaker most have absolute knowledge of the theme to do a statement like this.
Intention
The intention of the video according to the author is to express the truth and divulgate this truth with the purpose to persuade people to stop believing in religion, the argument is astrology. The speaker wants to tell the world that religion (catholic) is based on astrology and that there is no god. The speaker wants to convince the audience to stop believing because all that catholic religion is a huge lie, he is based on astrology and he gives proves that it’s a lie because the same story of Christ is repeated over and over again through time and history.
Believe or not… and why?
The decision to believe or not in what the speaker says is very individual, there are people who are extremely religious and won’t accept other theories of what may happened really. I decide to believe in some facts shown on the video, although the video has many facts that have coherence, I still have doubts and the video doesn’t satisfy all my doubts.

From childhood to Teen Age

Story

When I was little I used to play with a lot of Barbie’s, I love them. I always played with a friend named Natalia, but our friendship was a tough friendship, one day she came into my house and told me she didn’t have money to buy any Barbie’s so she ask me to borrow mine to her, I was excited that she asked my Barbie’s so I lend them to her, later that day I went to her house for my Barbie’s and I saw her playing with the dolls, but she had cut their heads and hair off, so I cried very hard and took my Barbie’s with me, I told my mom and she got very mad and talked to her mother, I told Natalia I was never going to forgive her, and until now every time I see her I claim to her what she did.

Through time I have realized I’m not a child anymore some aspects that helped me realized it where:
1. The things that I used to like (dolls, food, and sports) stopped liking me and my attention focused on make up, hair, etc.
2. My way to think, it changed a lot… although I weren’t the most mature person (and I’m not), I started to think and realize what It really matter to me and what was important
3. Boys started to like me; I started to be flirty with guys and dating them.
4. I started to go to parties, drink and smoke… to experiment what I liked
5. I started to care about all that was around me.

Reflection

Over the last 5 years I have suffered emotional and physical changes, that help me to understand that you will grow up no matter what, but I have realized with all my experiences in my life that, you cant help to grow up, cause you will no matter what, but growing as a personal and start to be mature is up to you, and every experience in your life can help you and give you lessons that later on you will need in your life.

what is dancing?

Dance is an art form that refers to the movement of the body, usually is rhythmic and the music is used as a way of expression. Dance is also considered or can be considered as a nonverbal way of communication. Gymnastics, figure skating and synchronized swimming are other sports that have some dance; also arts like martial arts are often compared as dances. Dancing is a way to express emotions though the movement of the body, witch the audience can perceive, most of the time dancers perform to an audience. Dancing has also techniques, like ballet, that has specific way to perform and do the movements.

History of dancing

It’s impossible to say when dance became part of human culture, but we know is has been an important part of ceremony, rituals, celebrations and entertainment since before the birth of earliest civilizations. Archaeology has found traces of dancing form the prehistoric times, around 9,000 year old, in India paintings and Egyptian tomb are referring to dancing.
One of the uses dancing could have in the prehistoric times, was performing and telling myths through the dance, sometimes was used to express feeling for the opposite gender. Historians have said that in ancient civilizations many times dancing was used to tell stories generation to generation.
A use that was often used by groups was the rituals that had a spiritual meaning for them and where often used to call their gods.

Dancing & spiritual meaning

According to the bible, the meaning of dance is to predicate the spiritual truth, and it means gladness or happiness. In ancient times, happiness of the heart was not only by musical instruments and songs, but dances as well. For the happiness of the heart the body has to express itself through dance. In ancient times, the happiness of someone’s was related with their spiritual wholesomeness. People where aloud to add dances to the songs and musical harmonies, and by this way testify joy.
In other cultures, the spiritual meaning of dancing was related to rituals and gods, it was a way to express and connect with the gods and make petitions.

Black Swan Critic

It’s about a ballet dancer named Nina Sayers (Natalie Portman) who is doing a big play named "Swan Lake", but she has a problem she needs to characterize 2 characters in the play, a delicate princess (Odette) which is perfect for that role and the evil sister (Odile) but in the metamorphosis of the change, and the rehearsals, she looses her mind and starts to hallucinate and create disturbed images of reality. She meets another ballet dancer named Lily (Mila Kunis), that according to the “swan” she is trying to trick or kill her. The mom (Barbara Hershey) that sees her daughter so disturbed tries to help her but Nina doesn’t want any help. Her teacher named Thomas (Vincent Cassel) of ballet seems attracted to her, and tries to help her to change and be able to impress the audience.
I would recommend this film, because it’s very interesting and you can perceive what Nina goes through the change. Also you can see how reality is transformed through Nina’s perspective. In the end of the movie it keeps you edge because you want to know what really happened.

How to...

How behave in your first date?
As a woman I know that sometimes is difficult to know how the man will react when we behave. Some women have issues with this kind of things that are completely normal. Sometimes are difficult to read and understand, that’s why I will give you some tips that never fail.
1. Don’t show you are nervous. (when you show that you are completely confident with yourself and you feel good that shows on the outside making men feel a attraction)
2. Make sure everything is ok with your makeup, clothes, etc. (these point is very important, men don’t like a woman that is clueless; example: make sure that your shirt is in the correct place and that your not showing anything. Make sure that the makeup is fine and that is not exaggerated, usually men like natural beauty, it’s not necessary to have a lot of makeup. Another tip to considerate, when you dress use something that is attractive and sexy, but that doesn’t show a lot of skin)
3. Talk with him and be gentle. (when you talk with him be interesting (with this I don’t mean you talking about science and stuff like that, just talk of something personal that he might use or need in the second date), be gentle, men don’t like a girl that is more rude of tougher than them.
4. Be flirty. (shake your hair letting the men smell your perfume, move your hand and body in a flirty way so the men will focus his attention on you; DON’T be exaggerate and don’t be provocative).
5. Depending on the place of your first date adapt you attitude. (these is very important men like a woman that can behave and have fun in every place that they are, if you are in a movie theater don’t be outgoing or your voice too loud, that will make them feel uncomfortable, if you are in a club, dance and try to make them have a good time)
6. Be punctual and make him see that he also has to leave. (1. if he shows late 5-10 min, then you call him that you will leave if he doesn’t arrive. 2. Show 10 min late making sure that he will be already there).

Natural food vs. snack bars

Criticism of products
Natural food vs. snack bars
Natural food has proteins and vitamins that helps your body to have a better health, natural food as fruit and vegetables are been replaced by snack bars that affirm to make the same reaction on your body and that they taste better.
These kinds of things have a mayor problematic in society because although the snack bars affirm this they also have fat, and natural food like fruit and vegetables don’t. Also many of the protein and vitamin that the snack bars have are artificial, I mean created by men. This doesn’t have the same value as a vitamin or protein that is 100% natural.
Many snack bars are meant to help people to loose of maintain their weight, the snack bars satisfy many times when you are hungry, fruit and vegetables because they are so light your body can digest them quickly and then you are hungry again, this is a disadvantage.
On conclusion snack bars are not natural and satisfy you when you are hungry and they don’t have the same vitamins and proteins that natural food does, but natural food has many vitamins and
its light.

Facebook

Facebook
Is a social network service and website, these website is functioning since February 2004. This social network became famous because it aloud the subscribers to communicate, interact, gossip with all the people you want even if they live on the opposite side of the world. Facebook has more than 600 million of users and 50% of the users enter every day and 200 million of the users are actively login with their mobile devices. Facebook has founded by Mark Zuckerberg with the help of other roommates of collage.
Facebook has come with consequences but also with benefits, the communication between people is faster and has effectiveness. As consequences; Facebook has changed the way people interact with each other, it has become less frequent that people interact face to face as a sub consequence of this; people are loosing skills to interact and relate to people around them. The time that young people are giving to this social network is huge and people might rather prefer to be in Facebook than other activities like doing sports.
The individual privacy has changed as well, Facebook as being a huge social network, people are constantly publishing what is going on in their life’s, making all users know about it. Also the publishing of videos and pictures might be misunderstood as a consequence making gossip.
Facebook is no competition with other social networks that exist but it has a competition with cel phones that are another way to communicate with people around you, the problem of cel phones is that they are expensive and Facebook is free.

Music with social message

The music is a way to express throw sounds and vibrations, it is considered an art and since humans exist we have created music. The music has a huge variety of sound and styles; it may depend on the culture, the political thought, religious beliefs or feelings. Music has been changed thru generations, for example when primitives started to use create music they use simple sound with natural elements now in days people have created elements to produce specific sounds. Some of the instruments people have created are:
Guitar: it’s originally from Spain; it has 6 strings and regularly is made form wood
Piano: has a keyboard that produces sounds.
Drums: is a percussion instrument that uses cylinders that when you touch them makes vibrations and make sounds.
As I have said music can express all you want, for example religious beliefs and political ideas, some author’s make these types of songs to do a social movement with people around the globe.
A very recognized song is Zombie form the Cranberries, this group is Irish rock band formed in 1989, actually the complete name was The Cranberry Saw US, but the vocalist changed it later, the group has sold more than 14.5 million albums in the united states only.
The song from this group called Zombie is a protest song, this song is from the album 1994 called No Need to Argue, this song laments the trouble that Northern Ireland, particularly on the killing of 2 children.

Global Media

Mass media refers to all media technologies, like internet, television, newspaper and radio; we use this Medias to massive communication. Massive media also gives us perceptions on issues around the world, and inform us about what’s going on around the world. Definition of some Medias:
Internet: is a worldwide system of computer networks, these networks contain information, news and social pages, where people interact and get to know each other.
Television: is a telecommunication system where you receive information through pictures and sounds.
Newspaper: is a publication usually printed, is a journal with current news and information, it has a variety of topics.
Radio: is a technology system that transmits information through electromagnetic waves.
All massive media are for communication and information of people around, because of this medias we can communicate with people around the world or inform ourselves of dangers, disasters or upcoming situations.

Wrong use of media
The massive media is especially used to communicate and inform with effectiveness, when someone use the media in a way that they shouldn’t or they abuse of them, then there is a wrong functional media. People sometimes use the media for personal purpose, like a gossip, wrong information or to fool some people. When a action like these appears the consequences can be many for example: a guy who is fired of his job because he didn’t had effectiveness and he turns to media and says that the company is corrupt or any other gossip, the consequences are not only for the company and owners but also to the people that work in there.
The consequences of a bad use can be many, but they are always big massive media as the name says is massive and the people that they use it are many, people get informed of all around the world, so a bad use of it will know everyone.

Printed, electronic and spoken communication

All massive media have their pros and defects, in printed media the information is accurate and has everyday advances but the defects of printed media is that you cant always find what are you looking for, besides it’s a huge journal which it can take you several minutes to find the information you want.
Electronic media is very fast and you can search for all the information you want in the different networks, but the issue is that its not always true or veridical the information they give you, because there is many pages and reds is very difficult for some people to find the information they want.
Spoken media or radio is not always fast and is almost the same of printed media only that someone is saying it thru a microphone that sends electromagnetic waves so you can hear it, the issue is that you cant always listen to it and its not very fast.
The media more effective is the electronic.

Communication vs gossip
Communicate is when you can listen to the other people and understand, reflect and respond in a coherent way and the other person doing the same, a gossip is when people tells a problem or situation to another person and this person modificates the information and tells it to another person and finally becomes a chain.
People in modern society have lost the ability to communicate with others; instead of that actually the world is full of gossips. Schools must concentrate in those abilities that with years and through generations people have lost.

Effectiveness of language for communication

Since humans exist, there has been created several ways to communicate like art, writing and language.  Language has been modified with time; each community has created their own language.
Language is a very effective way to communicate and probably the best way to fully communicate and express your self. In different societies the language is very different; while the alphabet of one society contains 24 word other may have 60.
